Recently we have had our entire series of LED underwater lights tested by Dutch IEC accredited testing institute DEKRA on the international standard for underwater lights, EN 60598-2-18. EN 60598-2-18 is widely recognized by most countries as the safety standard for underwater lighting. Testing to this standard is not mandatory, which means that the vast majority of manufacturers of underwater lights do not have their lights tested to the standard.

We chose to have all of our underwater lights tested in order to demonstrate the quality of our pool lighting products. The pool lights were tested on electrical safety (SELV), waterproofness (IPX8), insulation class (III), impact resistance, resistance to high pressure, thermal protection and fire safety. The entire range of EVA Optic LED underwater lights passed the tests with flying colors. Click here for the official attestation of conformity to EN 60598-2-18 of EVA Optic LED Underwater Lights.

The first commercial swimming pool fully equipped with LED lights opened its doors at the end of 2012. The entire complex of Swimming Pool De Vrolijkheid in Zwolle, Netherlands was equipped with EVA Optic LED lighting; from LEDline to spotlights, LED downlights, LED wall lights and LED underwater lights. This pool is a Class I accommodation where international swimming competitions at the highest level can be held.
